Re: Help for exlink serial connection
No, I don't think that my VGA port or cable are bad. But I suspect that adapter might be the cause. Everyone said: "any PL2303 adapter will do", so I didn't do a lot of research but got the cheapest one from Ebay. Spending $2 is not a problem but I hate to wait a month for goods from China...

Re: Help for exlink serial connection
For me, after my hack got broken (after a year of use), TV hack didn't work with none of the FWs. Other methods of hacking didn't work as well. That's why I bought the adapter. But I had no luck with it as well. I too want hack because of share mounting. Now using my laptop with XBMC connected via H...

Re: Help for exlink serial connection
I tried same things like you did and couldn't connect to TV as well. So my guess our VGA cables and VGA connections in TV are OK. There must be some step missing that isn't described in this forum. Or those adapters aren't suitable for this task.

Re: Help for exlink serial connection
on my ttl adapter I have red and green led which flashes when connection is established. When I connect everything LEDs on my adapter are both lit but do not flash, but I guess that's because connection with TV isn't established. By the way, which pins on VGA cable you use? The ones that are marked...
