Any solution for BD-E6100 is missing from the net so far. It seems I am stuck with Region 2 for life with all my dvds in Region 1. I should've known better I guess

Maybe there is a restriction in 1013, I do not know. The TDM procedure is not that hard. You have to open the box and solder 3 cables. All you need is cheap Nokia CA-42 or DKU-5 cable (about 2USD incl. shipping) or other FTDI cable and computer with hyperterminal or putty. Thanks mate once more ! d...

Well I am also interested because I made the same mistake I guess on a BD-E6100 which is the like BD-E5500 without the wi-fi. Which firmware do you have Andy?

TDM stands for "Top Debug Menu". It is a console menu that allow you to perform some actions on your unit. However, it is not so easy to get it... you need to open your unit and do some harware stuff : http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Serial_console Cheers mate, this stuff is just too adv...
