Have you tried recording Aerial TV?
I am not sure but I think it works only when watching aerial TV, at least this is what I see on my TV.
When watching cable TV and trying to record with the PVR, I get "Not available" message.

Man you are genious. It was the encoding. I created the file with notepad++ under Windows 7. Now that I open it with vi I see strange symbols instead of new lines.
