Should there be any pre-installed files from Samsung on the internal hdd?

Hi, I've recently bought a second-hand BD-C8200 player. Unfortunately, the previous owner has removed the hdd. I tried to install my own hdd but with no success. The player without the hdd turns on quite normally. However, after some time it freezes so that none option works (the picture stops too)....
