You NEED the usb drive attached to the player for root to work!

For now you can not remove the usb drive if you want root access plug it back in and try again!

I had a bit more success with my BD-F8500 after I compliled new kernel modules and had virtual usb/smb stuff working I went back to try and workout why the MST12 modules were not loading since its the same toolchain and similar kernel some of them should work. it turns out its ptys.ko thats crashing...

It looks like I was trying to load the wrong modules I should have used the MST12 ones when Its done recording I will give them a try hopefully they work

I tried the MST12 modules with no luck, it loaded anyver but crashed trying to insmod SRS_module.ko
