Is the cable OK?
Remove the cable from the router, connect it to the TV, switch the TV on, and then connect it to the router again, is the LINK led on?
Is there a link at all?

Yeah, for DNS setup the IP of the router.
Once this is setup, then try to ping your TV.
ping 192.168.178.5

Did the TV got an IP address from the router?
If it did not get one, try setup manually the IP address.

If you have a good router, which has a integrated firewall, then you can disable the smarthub update. First you need to ALLOW connection to www.samsung.com - as that's the URL what the TV check, if it has internet connection. And then put a DENY for everything else. Now the TV thinks it has access, ...
