No, just a blank screen even with the rooting USB unplugged. The root still works, I checked the FTP connection.

In your place I would change the fw. IMHO it's best to use lowest possible firmware :) I have almost same tv and no problems like you have :) I downgraded to 1108.1 and the main problem with the DS Video app remained. Ok, I didn't have to use this option. I just wanted to decode a few recordings and I succeeded with PVRDecoder. I was able to decode even the files I recorded before the root! I wrote my experiences here:
