Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

I think my files may be corrupt, can someone with Samba working on H please upload their files: /mtd_rwarea/smb_userdata and /mnt/etc/init.d/04_04_samba.init.

Please upload the actual files, rather that just copying and pasting, in case there is some issue with permissions etc of my files.

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

do you use password? Do you use SMBv2? Try disabling it ? Yes, I use a password, I will try without username and password. I am not sure about samba version, I use whatever DD-WRT comes with by default, I can check. I think it is possible my samba init.d file might have become corrupt or changed so...

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

You can use SSH, telnet, FTP, SFTP, whatever you want :) I powered off the Nvidia Shield and using Filezilla I downloaded the directory /mtd_unirw/rwcommon/widgets/user to my computer and then uploaded it to /dtv/usb/sda1/smb/192.168.1.1/Media/Video/TV Shows/24/s09. In case it would help I also cop...

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

I did install an Nvidia Shield Android TV in another room around the time this started happening, but from what I remember both Nvidia Shield and the Samsung TV were able to play videos from the samba server at the same time - at least they were. Disconnect your "Nvidia Shield Android TV"...

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

By any chance - did newer systems appear in your network in between? I've seen samba problems when a new system appears on the network (even if it doesn't offer samba shares). Maybe you can try to isolate the network and have only TV and router to isolate the problem. Also - are you trying with onl...

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

It does? What is your firmware version ? The service menu shows: T-MST14DEUC-2130.0 T-MST14DEUS-1009 and did you set up correct security settings tv NEEDS write access :) Well I checked DD-WRT on my router and read & write access was already configured for all who use Samba. Is there anything e...

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

Okay, thanks zoelechat.

Sectroyer, is there anything I could try to stop Samba crashing the TV? It still happens, even when I do not use virtual USB.

Re: [!!!] Rooting H on latest firmwares

Exactly :) First try: DEST_DIR=/dtv/usb/sda1/smb Then if it works you can try to remove /smb (I don't remember if it's expected/possible in default Samba script...) Thanks. Both mount it, without /smb at the end my Samba server is mounted on the SamyGO root USB key in a dir with the IP address, if ...
