Samsung B650 and option channels
Hello, the german PAYTV network SKY (and I think others too) use option channels which are only used if sports events are happening. If using an OEM receiver from the PAYTV distributor, you switch to a sports channels and use the option key of the remote control to select a match or camera perspecti...

Re: one day Samsung apps, one day Yahoo Widgets - how to fix
I think I would prefer Yahoo because Samsung Apps only offers Youtube, Weather and (not-very usable) News to me.
But it would be an advance if one of this platforms would appear stable without the behavior that the TV switches the system without asking.

one day Samsung apps, one day Yahoo Widgets - how to fix?
For some reason, if I push the internet button on my remote control, either the Yahoo widgets are shown or the Samsung Apps. The system replaces itself after (mostly) a few days and the whole configuration becomes overwritten. Everytime the system replaces itself, it becomes reconfigured like if the...

displaying video from UVC USB cameras
How much work would it be to write an app that displays the video from an attached USB camera? Could the default drivers from the Linux kernel be used or will new kernel modules be required?

HD channels are shown in SD on my B650 for a strange reason
Hello, for some strange reason, channels using 720p are shown in the same low resolution like SD channels. The TV recognizes the channel format as well and shows 720p in the info tab but everything seems to be displayed like in SD. I played around with settings in the service menu before but even a ...

Re: Samba server
As promised, I have attached my samba server solution another time: To install: 1.) Extract the archive to an USB stick or any writable location on the TV memory 2.) Edit the file smb.conf to set the IP-address of your TV, an hostname and a workgroup name. Edit the shared directories as required. 3....

Re: showing google calendar schedules on TV
I decided to co another way: I will write a small C++ program using libgcal that dumps the calendar and sends soap messages if a calendar event will happen in a given time: gcalsoap [username] [password] [time: 30] [host: localhost] [port: 52235] Last three parameters may be optional using defaults ...

showing google calendar schedules on TV
Hello, I am thinking about coding a solution to display schedules from a google calendar onto TV. For that, I need to write a script that fetches the calendar schedules from a given google calendar account and generates a suitable SOAP message that is forwarded to the port of the DLNA service on loc...

Re: Patch to enable Yahoo widgets for all countries
I (owning a central european version) tried to change the PnP settings to a country where normally another widget system is used than Yahoo (Russia, Poland). But the widget system does not change. There still remains Yahoo. Having a look into the file system, there aren't any files there to launch a...

Re: help needed on making use of the call monitor service
The FritzBox is an all-in-one-router (DSL/LAN/WIFI/DOCSIS/ISDN/ANALOG PHONE) mainly sold in Germany and Austria. The system runs Linux on the MIPSEL-architecture. Question: To support the Samsung S800 J?t - is it possible to generate a widget that does the call monitor job or is a J2ME-application r...
