Do not touch rootfs. You get bootloop if hash calculations does not match. Authuld does some checking during boot and compares hashes against original ones inside tv. It is enough to uncompress rootfs and compress it back w/o any change. Timestamp is different, hash different -?bootlop. Unless you ...

For E SERIES!!!! do this: * E-MST users, better go there . I use this root for over a year successfully without any problem(My TV is not connected to the internet at all). After almost a year, Suddenly root disappear and the SamyGo widget(widget is located in USB) that can bring it back is gone too...
