Re: Recommendations for getting a rootable TV in 2019

Thanks for the update... I'll look at what the market has in terms of dumb TVs and I'll pair it with an Odroid N2 that I have as a media player and hope to add all the features I want. The H series can do the TV recording and monitoring. Sorry to hear things are lingering... But you never know when ...

I'd like to have the same amount of control over the new tv as well, but I suppose it's no longer doable on new series. So, I'd like to as...

Re: [CHROOT] Debian Jessie armel image

Thanks for sharing. You can manually set the time after you chroot with the date command (but it might cause stability issues). But you can tell apt to ignore the release timestamps: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/2544/how-to-work-around-release-file-expired-problem-on-a-local-mirror Edit:...

Re: Controlling a SamyGO TV through Home Assistant

My spare time is non-existent, unfortunately. I can barely maintain my own code, sorry :(

Re: Controlling a SamyGO TV through Home Assistant

Hmm... Not sure if you can supply a volume with the libs I'm using, but you can call Volume + and Volume - as many times as you need. The best way though might be to control the volume through DLNA (since the TV is a DLNA receiver).

Re: Guide to record to a network share for H series?

Sorry guys, it's been too long. I kept putting this off, but now I created a startup script that should move your recordings from USB to a network share and set up the symlink as needed. You need to edit it and set your network recording path (example inside). The code is here: https://github.com/ma...

Re: [API] SamyGO web API

Nice. Good luck with it! Try not to have many simultaneous calls to the API because it will either fail, or risk crashing the TV. This is because to extract data I have to inject some libraries into a running process and if there are many injections it can fail. There is a locking mechanism inside t...

Re: [API] SamyGO web API

You're right zoelechat, now it works without crashing. Thanks.
I also added libAlert support and updated the first post.
