Re: Controlling a SamyGO TV through Home Assistant

:) I'm glad you find it helpful. The hard work is done by the SamyGO libraries, I just added a web API around them so that I could query them from Home Assistant. If you have a newer generation TV (J or higher), the API won't work, and needs to be redone. I can do it, but I would need help from some...

Re: Any good H series TVs that are not smart (e.g. no ethernet/wifi)?

What made you decide to go with the H6400? The ability to root it was the selling point for me :D Here's what I've been doing with it (apart from using a lot of the libraries for SamyGO on the forum): https://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=11882 I'm not using the smart bits almost at all (apa...

J5600AW - is it a Tizen TV, or a rebranded H series?

Hello all, I'm considering rooting my in-laws TV which is a J5600AW and I was wondering which root method I should try (the TV is offline, I applied the DNS redirects to protect from firmware updates, and it currently runs firmware 1411). Should I try the J root, or the H root? I seem to remember th...

Re: *** Requests for apps/patches J series ***

libSoftPowerOff, libPinCode would both be nice, though I don't currently have a Tizen TV. But I'm planning on getting one next year :)

Re: Popcorn-time on Samsung SMART TV

There are many problems that prevent that app from running on the tv: 1. You need to get an armel version for it which I doubt they provide 2. Assuming you have all the libraries it needs (in a chroot for example), it needs to display a window and allow you to control it which requires an X11 server...

Re: [CHROOT] Debian Jessie armel image

Ok, thanks. Did you recompile it locally, or did you cross compile it? If you compiled it locally, did you have to add swap? Also, roughly how much disk space did you have to use to compile python?

Re: [CHROOT] Debian Jessie armel image

I've played a bit with the debian chroot image and I seem to run into some "Illegal instructions" when I run certain python apps inside the chroot (pip, virtualenv): $ virtualenv Illegal instruction $ dmesg [ 0.000000] [show_info] It's not show_info() case for Process Name[virtualenv], Thread Name[v...

Re: [API] SamyGO web API

I accept push requests for bug fixes or new features. Also, from what I've read the functionality exists also on tizen TVs, but with different APIs. If somebody can give me shell access to their J+ tv (or at least some outputs), I can update the API as well.
