Re: UE40EH5300 direct emmc unbrick solution!
savan I think you're wasting your time with that. Too hard. During testing sectroyer already proved he was able to gain remote shell on my J series and shut it down

Accessing advanced service menu using UART
Hey all, I have a Mac and a USB->serial cable, and I wasn't much interested in buying a Factory remote so I decided to try to access the menu by sending the factory remote codes over ExLink. First, you'll need to set your RS232 mode to UART and enable UART in the service menu. Follow the instruction...

Re: Hello World :)
Personally I'd just like to know how you got ANY sort of shell access in the first place :D I've been using an app I wrote to extract things from the root file system (I've been able to access many configs and script files with it, including switch_init.sh, but it seems to have the permissions of th...

J series boot melody?
I thought that Samsung had completely removed the power on/off melody from the J-series TV, but while looking around in the storage I've found /etc/melody/on.mp3 and /etc/melody/off.mp3, which sure enough are the classic Samsung TV noises. The setting is not available under System > General as in ol...

Re: Smart TV First Boot Video
When you find it let me know
In the mean time I found a way to write an app so that the TV can send files to an HTTP Upload service I wrote on my laptop. So I got a few random files as a test (/etc/passwd, some sound effects, config files, etc). But I still can't find that boot video!!

Re: Smart TV First Boot Video
Thanks for the offer. Oddly enough I already have the E-series bootup, someone dumped it on YouTube :D But no it cannot replace the H and J series animations. For the record, sectroyer, where is that file on the J series TVs? I built a simple root Filesystem browser app to run on my TV, and I have b...

Re: Smart TV First Boot Video
Through my limited experience with SDB and the J series so far, I don't believe there's a surefire way to gain access to the file system to grab that file.
So, if anyone could grab the file off of their rooted H series and send it to me, would be awesome

Re: Smart TV First Boot Video
Sure, if you know the location that'd be great. Also, how would I pull it from the disk? Would SDB allow that?

Smart TV First Boot Video
Hello all, I was wondering if someone with an H-series TV who has rooted their device could extract the video that you see when you first set up the set (the one seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_h3-so0wiI ) I sold my old Smart TV and only own a J-series Tizen TV at this point (which I am...

Re: Possible root for J series!!??
If anyone would like to get started writing some Java, the JAR is actually surprisingly simple to use: Here's how I set up my project in IntelliJ 15: https://www.anony.ws/i/2015/12/29/ScreenShot2015-12-29at12.56.09AM.md.png And here's working code (note where I put the "shell:0 uname" stri...
