Re: HDMI EDID hack to allow 5.1 passthrough
5.1 AC3 gets passed, that's not the issue. DTS does not, thats another issue. The problem is that most devices don't even bother to send the AC3 to the TV, since they think it won't play it.

Hello, great news! Could ask for one more:

Or instructions how to do this on my own.
Thanks!

Mediaplay without TV interaction
Hello, I have an Android device (HTC phone) which can play media files through my UE40B7070, and I don't need to do anything from the TV. The Android device is in the same subnet through wlan. I guess there is some DLNA magic behind it, and it would be cool to do the same from my linux machine. Any ...

Re: HDMI EDID hack to allow 5.1 passthrough
I don't think DTS passthrough is possible. I have a device that can fake EDID info and it is configured according to my audio receiver which can receive DTS, this way I can get my bluray player to send DTS to the TV, but nothing comes out.

No. This needs experts and proper hardware knowledge. I don't think the EDID info is writeable from TV software.

Hello, at least this works with UE40B7000. And you need to set xbox to output 5.1 instead of automatic detect. I'm sure there was better directions somewhere here...

Re: Volume control for external audio output
Well, the robust way was just directly communicating with the device (the drivers & software is opensource). Originally the only way I could utilize the IR sending, was using system calls from the exeDSP, calling the binary through shell. And as you can imagine, that's not the best & fastest...

Re: HDMI Anynet+ CEC compatibility
I suggest you return the sharp soundbar while you still can (30 days money back, right?), and try to find some other that really works with the TV.

Re: Volume control for external audio output
I bought an Iguana IR device and compiled its drivers for the TV. Then I was able to send IR commands from TV's shell. After that I hacked around and got to the point where remote control Vol+ / Vol- was sending those IR commands. I compiled LIRC for the TV, but found out much easier way to communic...

Re: How to enable Advanced mode startup script
I don't want to sound harsh, but it seems that due to your lack of simple shell/linux knowledge, I'll bet the next post from you will be a question how to fix a bricked TV.
Also I'm having problems understanding your english, and when there is problem communicating with each other, it's hard to help.
