Re: Samy Going Open source (sh4 A7/8/9)

Anyway the TV is reliable. Yes, it is. I still use it with the Mecool KII android/DVB-T2 box. I never had issues with CEC. Actually the issues of the original fw with HDMI CEC disappeared. I don't know if a fw update of Mecool KII did the job or it was just a change of TV configuration (I gave up c...

Re: Samy Going Open source (sh4 A7/8/9)

An update for those who still owns this old good TV. After 4 years of inactivity I was forced to remove the dust from this project. Czech broadcasters are changing from DVB-T to DVB-T2. I bought an Amlogic S905 box (Mecool KII) and connected it to HDMI. But the TV with original SW showed substantial...

Re: LE46A956 - problems with H264 decoder??

Not an easy one. The problem is that Samsung firmware is based on an old version of coprocessor backend.

The only solution is to use alternative firmware.
Unfortunately it is far from finished state.

Re: Samy Going Open source (sh4 A7/8/9)

Suzuke, to make things clear even ShowTime is too much for a STx7109. It may be usable after substantial rework, but nobody have enough time and enthusiasm to do such work. And too few potential users are interested (I mean in samygo community). If you want to do some progress, just let me know. Sor...

Re: 40A856 optical output ?

The only schematics I have is a block diagram and it shows that HDMI goes just to MT8226. And data sheet of STi710x does not describe any HDMI input. So the only way is inside MK8226.

Re: Any experience with raspberry PI (XBMC) ?

Yes of course, the final switch off signal goes from micom. I don't recommend to hack micom firmware, so the easier way is to hack exedsp, which sends commands to micom. OK with you, bugficks? And there is one way to delay switch off. Set in menu something like OTA firmware upgrade and tv will stay ...

Re: 40A856 optical output ?

I don't think that HDMI input can go to MT8291. Here is some description of MT8291 from other TV service manual: The MT8291 is a highly integrated stereo audio CODEC. The MT8291 performs stereo analog-to-digital and two digital-to-analog conversions with single-ended analog voltage input and output....

Re: 40A856 optical output ?

STi710x chip probably can forward DTS from HDMI to S/PDIF. Unfortunately HDMI inputs and S/PDIF out are handled by MTK8226 (secondary CPU).
I don't have a datasheet for this chip and I don't want to disassemble another huge firmware.

Re: Any experience with raspberry PI (XBMC) ?

Btw shutdown is controlled by exedsp, not standard linux way. Patch should be possible.
