Hdr at one or all hdmi ports?

Post by fits79 »

Hi the new 2017 series of samsung 4k tv models has offer hdr support to 1 of 3 hdmi ports like 2016 4k tv models or it support hdr at all 3 hdmi ports?

I have the samsung ue43ku6000 and i have hdr support to ONLY 1 OF THE 3 HDMI PORTS THE TV HAS.

Please tell me do you suggest me to buy one mu model or not and why?

What benefits do you expect from HDR on all ports. Do you need them at all? I do not think MU is better than KU, but none can prevent you from buying.

rtfm, depends on model.
e.g. KS has HDR on all ports and true 10bit panel, and your low-end KU has HDR on 1 port on 8bit dithered panel.
You just get worth your money, and you shouldn't ignore specs when buying a TV (or anything else).

But has 8-bit (50Hz! Possible IPS/VA lottery!!) interpolated panel :)
Only MU9000 (doubt on MU8000) and Q have 10bit ones (in M/Q series).

Not talking about perception I'm able to judge by myself, just warning about shortcuts (manufacturers) abuse such as HDR->10bit. But you're right, a few people even don't see any difference between DVD and Bluray ;)
