[TDT] Games and Emulators

Post by dksoul » Sat Jan 22, 2011 8:38 pm

Hello everyone,

I have ported some games and emulators for the Trident C-Series that I would like to share with you.

Games
Abuse 0.7.1 (source, binary)
Freeciv 2.2.4 (source, binary)
OpenLieroX 0.58rc3 (source, binary)
OpenTTD 1.0.5 (source, binary)
OpenTyrian 20110131 (source, binary)
Quake2 r0.16.2 (source, binary)
TheManaWorld 0.0.29.1 (source, binary)

Emulators
Frodo 4.1b (source, binary)
Fuse 1.0.0.1 (source, binary)
MAME 0.141 (source, binary)
ScummVM 1.2.1 (source, binary)
SMS Plus/SDL 0.9.4a-r7.1 (source, binary)
sz81 2.1.6.1 (source, binary)
E-UAE 0.8.29-WIP4 (source, binary)
VisualBoyAdvance 1.7.2 (source, binary)

Enjoy! ;)

NOTE: My SDL port does not implement hardware acceleration or sound. For the hardware accelerated version with sound, you'll have to wait for the mamaich port.

I think we need repack those files with TDT name.
Also we needed to produce ARM and MStar versions too.
I feeling reinstall SamyGO OE soon for arm compilation of those files also for B series to see if it's works...

Finally got MAME to compile correctly!! :D
However, there are two problems:
  1. Full MAME either segfaults or reboots the TV. This was somewhat expected since the executable alone is about 60MB!!
  2. Tiny MAME works but it is slowwww!
The binary package that you'll find above contains the default Tiny MAME.
If you need any other feature you'll have to recompile it

Also be sure to test mamaich X Server port and give him feedback, since it represents a major step forward! ;)

That seg fault might be handled with high speed flash or HDD at USB.
You can also add some codes to avoid that seg faults, please inspect the codes. :)
I wish to have C550 TDT now :)

I suspect the TV does not have enough RAM to have both exeDSP and MAME running at the same time.
Perhaps a swap file in the USB drive might help (didn't try it).

Yeah, swap is good since we cannot kill exeDSP right? :D
In B series, we have plenty much area at TV's internal flash. Which is faster to mount swap "file".
Does Trident does save such a rw flash space?

There are RW partitions, but they are very small (the biggest is 10MB) so they're really not that useful :(
