How to enable Internet@tv in T-val6deuc Tvs

Postby bubo » Sun Oct 16, 2011 10:59 am

Hi,

I have UE32C6000 tv with T-val6deuc firmware. Is it possible to enable intermet@tv in this TV?
I noticed that there are some troubles with t-val6deuc, so I want to be sure to not brick my TV.
Thank you

Thanks,

well, it was a birthday present, so I couldn't chose specific model - I didn't have enough courage to return it to the store :D
Is it possible to hack at least something on this tv?
Is it hw or sw issue?

thanks

What is against upgrading certain (internet@tv related) files in appdata + exe, then update the hashes? What is the problem with this approach?
I've checked that the diffs between the valdeuc and the val6deuc stuff is of course the size of the exeDsp, and the extra gaming libraries. But practically
what I've seen is that exeDSP is the guilty one, as that has the internet@tv implemented. So what is the problem via simply copying the exeDSP + the corresponding libraries from VALDEUC to VAL6DEUC, fix the hashes, etc. and upgrade the TV?

If you know to add Internet@TV to non having it by default we:
1. have to enable it on exeDSP (i doubt, probably it is there aready)
2. change the boot scripts to mount required missing devices like /mtd_down or mtd_rwcommon which is a part of Internet@TV
3. Re-partition the NAND to get extra space for that devices, initially we don`t have required partitions on board.

Any suggestions else?

Ok, was mislead by the size diffs between the 2 exeDSPs, even the VAL6DEUC has internet TV within the exeDSP, you were right. Lame me.

mtd_rwcommon is present in val6deuc as well, mtd_down is not (where is it created, haven't seen it in rest_mount or in partition.txt), also in valdeuc there is mtd_swu (100megs large). app_data is kinda "shrinked" in val6deuc, like Java is completely empty (jar/lib as well), gemstar, moip, stagecraft and yahoo has to be pullled as well from app_data.

Ok. Then space problem could be solwed Hi using MTD_swu.
I like your thinking :-)

So we have just change bootscript OR just add mounting of /mtd_down after complete tb boot without touching rootfs.

Btw, do you have this tv?

hehe a few friends of mine eager to get their TVs bricked :P btw, if for some strange reason TV is unable to boot-up (I dunno partition issues, authentication, whatever), how can I revive these? (don't really want to JTAG it if possible, although should not be a major problem) ExLink works still? or?

silly question. why can't we simply "valdeucify" the val6deuc
tv? (i mean remove swu partition, shrink other sizes to fit onto
the 128megs, probably remove some gaming files, dunno, decrypt
the valdeuc fw, modify/fix hashes, reencrypt it as it was val6deuc
and update he tv. afaik the models (apart from the nand size) are
somewhat hw compatible). what am i missing?
