mainboard replacement for LE37C650

Post by benton »

Hi all,
I have LE37C650L1WXXH with mainboard BN-94 02625J, LCD panel BN07-00829A T370HW03 VH AU37H3H and power supply BN44-00339B.
Problem - random restarts, resets, StandBy LED disappears and appears after random time not allowing to turn the TV on for some time - I replaced all the capacitors on PSU and tried the trick with resetting EEPROM - without success.
That's why I'd like to change the mainboard, but I can't find the exact one anywhere, so I'm looking for some decent replacement.
AFAIK - the same panel and PSU were used in LE37C630, but the MB was different (I don't know the part number). I've possibility to buy the LE37C630 with broken screen (unfortunately - I can't look inside it to check the parts' numbers, I can buy it online).

Therefore I've got three questions:
1) Should my tv (LE37C650) work with the MB taken from LE37C630 - without any other necessary changes? Are the other components (PCB's, inverters, etc.) the same in both devices?
2) Is it hard to replace the panel - in case when I have to put my LCD into the case of LE37C630?
3) Is there any proper replacement for MB BN-94 02625J so I can just put it into my tv? If so, could you provide some part numbers?

Thank's in advance.

Spareparts can be found in here: http://www.sahy.cz/ and here: http://euroservice2000.abc24.pl/default.asp
On Ebay you can also find spareparts. Try searching on ?C650? on both ebay and the websites. In the C-series Wiki you can also find a service manual with partnumbers listed.
The mainboard of a C650 32", 37", 40" etc. are all the same, it doesn?t matter which one you take. You should note down your current panel ID and tuner in your service menu. When you replace the mainboard, those ID?s needs to be the same in your new MB.

I had checked given e-shops with spare parts (as well as other sources) before and I found only MB BN94-02625V and BN94-03772Z that suits LE37C650, whereas my set has MB BN94-02625J originally.
What's the difference between -V and -J ending? Isnt't it related to the model/vendor of panel used in particular device?
On my local electronic forum someone wrote, that in C-series (on the basis of LE40C650) the following MB were used:
BN94-03454B
BN94-03454K
BN94-03454S
BN94-03454Y
BN94-03772U
BN94-04234A
Could anybody confirm this info?
Is it 100% safe to use one of the MB listed above instead of BN94-02625J? Is there any risk that something else may fail/brake down due to incompatibility (especially if the MB was designed to work with other panel than mine)?

I don?t believe the mainboard part number ending has anything to do with the panel type.
The same applies for the panel diameter, ie. it doesn?t mater if you use a mobo from a 32", 37", 40" or 46" TV (55" and above uses another mobo as juuso mentioned)

The model / panel type is listed in your service menu and can be changed. That?s why you need to write down your current panel type and make it the same in your new mobo.
For example, my panel type is: 40L1UF0C, where
40 = Diameter
L = Manufacturer -AUO AU Optronics Taiwan
1 = 100/120Hz
U = Ultra Clear
F = FullHD
0 = 1. Panel
C = CCFL back light

Other manufacturers are
A = AMLCD = active matrix liquid crystal display
D = CMO Chi Mei Optoelectronics Taiwan
L = AUO AU Optronics Taiwan
I = CPT CHUNGHWA PICTURE TUBES, LTD Taiwan

As far as I know only (but i?m not 100% sure) only the UK (+Scandinavia) and EU mobo?s are different due to the tuner type used.
Your TV model code can give you additional information, ie LE37C650 L1WXXN on your search for the right mobo.

Hello. Sorry for reviving this post but I'm interested on that because I have a LE40C650 with a BN94-03454Y mainboard and in my country (Spain) it's difficult to find it. Although my television has no problems nowadays I'm trying to be ready if worst could happen. Anyone know where to find that mainboard or a compatible one? I've been looking for it but I wasn't successful, sorry.

If you can't find exact BN94 (=model) focus on BN41 (=design), should fit in most cases.
Also check this, might help you :)
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.
