BD Firmware Downgrade (SamyGO Proof of Concept)

Hi,
I am trying to downgrade BD-D8900 and I have the same problem. Firmware 001107 is detected, but download is stuck at 0% and then finishes with timeout error. Cold restart doesn't help. What could be the problem?

For the life of me I cant get this work on my HT-D5330. I changed the settings on my router and in the HT, didn’t work…tried only changing in the router leaving auto on the HT…didn’t work. All I’m constantly getting is “no new software updates”.

I'm in Canada on the rogers network, did this work for anyone with the D5330?

Hi,

I have a bluray player BD-D6500 with 001029 firmware. It updated automatically and now I have Cinavia infecting my machine. This really annoys me as companies are now removing functions from a machine that I have paid for originally. You should be able to roll back to any firmware of your choice. I own the machine not them.

Anyway I have read every post and tried everything but to no avail. I get the “no new software updates” Is there any way to downgrade? Should I wait for a solution?

I’m close to giving up and buying an old machine.

Just to update you. Don't know why but today I try again ( probably for the 50th time) following the instructions on first page and my downgrade worked on my HT-D5500.

Thanks Ziga for a hint.
Now, I was able to downgrade BD-D8900 with the same instructions. The displayed software version is now:
BPH-D8900EUB-1007.0, so I can confirm that firmware B-FIRHRDEUC_001107 is working!
I have just one more question: this firmware is SamyGO patched. How can I access/activate SamyGo extensions? I cannot see any additional icon in SmartHub after firmware installation.

I just change the dns to manual 46.4.199.222 and ip in auto in bluray player only. not change any setting on router, then its updated. earlier 1 months back same thing i did not luck, but this time its work, i dont know how ?

Hi.
I have problems downgrading/upgrading my BD-D8900 (Nordic version)
It says it is running 2012/07/07_001011
(I gues its SWU_B-FIRHRDEUC_001011_I03_ES000KS000RS000_120707)

When I try to download I get the error code 603.
Can I downgrade or is there an error?
