BD-ES6000 Region Hack

Post by cagdas »

I have a BD-ES6000 BluRay Player and it is DVD region 1. I want to turn it to region free. I've found lots of tutorial for this but my player came with AK59-00148A remote and there is no REPEAT button on this remote.

Is there any solution to this problem? Is it possible to use SamyGO for this purpose.

Here is some informations:
[*]Firmwire version: 1013
[*]Player doesn't have a tray, it has slot type

Try this one:

Code: Select all

**NOTE** this was done with the following:
Firmware : 1006.3
Remote : AK59-00148A

1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray.

2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the
firmware.

3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing
anything.

4. Press the eject button on your remote to open the tray.

5. Press the eject button on your remote to close the tray.

6. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left corner do the following.

8. Press the STOP button (the square symbol)

9. Enter 76884 on the number pad.

10. The region code "4" should appear at the top left corner of the screen.(this just flashed on then off, so keep an eye on the screen)

11. Enter a "9" to make the player region free.

12. Power down and power up again.

13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change.

================================================
================================================

Firstly, you must start entering the code just after the "No Disk" message is shown and before the message disappears.

Secondly, the STOP key is part of the code. All six keys must be entered smoothly as "STOP 76884". The entry gets timed out so you can't stop in the middle and restart.

If you don't see the "4" the first time, don't worry. Just start from step 4 again (took me 2 goes to get it, it is all about the timing)

================================================

For people from other parts of the world, all region codes are as follows

1 ? 2 9 3 3 4
2 ? 5 7 5 3 8
3 ? 5 6 7 3 2
4 ? 7 6 8 8 4
5 ? 5 3 8 1 4

First of all, there is no tray because of it, there is only one way to see "NO DISC" message. First I plug-off the BD from power then I connect it, after it boots "NO DISC" message appears on the top right corner. After I see message (before it disappears) I push STOP + 2 + 9 + 3 + 3 + 4 but there is no new message on screen.

Result, it doesn't work also. Is there any different idea?

I think you can also change region with TDM on debug console :

Code: Select all

...
DBG> : 12
...
DBG> : 15
====================================
      [ SsConfig Debug Menu]
------------------------------------
  1  : Print Infomation
  2 : Print All Config Value
  3 : Print Selected Config Value
  4  : SetRegion
  5  : SetDigitalCountry
  6  : SetAnalogCountry
====================================
  99  : Exit
====================================
DBG> : 1
Produc Type :   2
Region Type :   4
Digital Country :       5
Analog Country :        5
Chipset Type :  13

for TDM you need to open the player and find signals for Tx, Rx, GND. After that have to connect your Ex-link cable to these signals and get the debug menu.

So the FaNet method won't work to change the region code on the BD-E6500?

FaNet cable is just to get the service menu on the player, not to get console connection. You can try change region in service menu. Hope it works on your player.

Hi there again,

the cable adapter arrived today. I did plugged it like the FaNet Wiki says but it doesn't do anything when I use the FaNet Software just gives me Errors that it couldn't write on Port... When I use the command line: "mode com5:9600,n,8,1,p"
Result is seen in the first Picture.

So Now I'm not sure what I do wrong? May I pinned the cable incorrect?

I have two of those USB adapters seen in the pic and used TX and RX and of course crossed them, then I used RST ... Is that correct or does it needs to be GND? or something else?

I hope you can help, regards

Mat
