So far a fact :)
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Ok, let's see if I can block [www.]samsungotn.net completely then.

If you manage blocking it you should block whole list provided by zoelechat :)

Is it www.ab-solution.info?
Are you using black list option for blocking?
I'm running my Asus in AP mode, I wonder if AB solution requires it to run in router mode. Since in my current setup my asus isn't a DNS which i guess this solution requires.
I'll try later on...

Yes I use this ab-solution with my black list. And you need to run your Asus in router mode.

Ok - finally it seems I managed to block domains

Code: Select all

Pinging samsungotn.net [0.0.0.0] with 32 bytes of data:

Destination specified is invalid.
Destination specified is invalid.
Destination specified is invalid.
Destination specified is invalid.

Ping statistics for 0.0.0.0:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
I have to cascade my Asus using LAN-WAN instead of LAN-LAN though - not optimal. But hopefully it won't affect much...

EDIT:dnsmasq was a nice tool... Thx zoelechat! But a log of hosts there - hope I didn't miss to block any...

Yeah much more, also good results with blocking ping. Zoe has full list of domains to block :)

Where do I find that?
Link found in this post doesn't work.

EDIT
I realise I'm supposed to block all domains containing the hosts above ( and possible more of them).
I used /etc/hosts to block, seems I should use dnsmasq instead...
