I have also UBD K8500. I have not entered WiFi password, there will be no WiFi connection. I have removed LAN cable, so there is no internet traffic to device.
What is the next step?

Yes, first block updates and confirm it works
Cinavia will be only removed for those who block updates. IMHO best way to block updates is to block ALL internet traffic to device

I heard that H series were quite good, but they are not UHD
I guess I need to wait a while
