Wakeup without IR-RemoteControl

Postby andleo » Tue May 31, 2011 2:56 pm

Hello,

i have a UE40D6500 TV and i can control it over the Port 5500 like using the Apple-App. But my Problem is, when i switch off the TV, i can't switch on again. I tried to send a wol-packet but nothing happend. So i searched for a solution and i think it would be possible to send a command to power on over the ex-link. So i can build a little adapter, that sends a PowerOn-Command to RS232 by recieving a WOL.
But now my questions are these:

1. is it possible to wake the TV by using RS232 EX-Link-Cable like sending a "P" or is the RS232-Jack also offline in standby like the ethernet-adapter?
2. if my first question ist yes, what is the code for serial enable at d-series? can anybody send it me by pm?

Thanks for Help

I haven't tested that.. but when the TV is OFF the rs232 jack has no ground (it picks up spurious characters) so I think the serial is totally disconnected.

But then again maybe there is a pin that wakes it.

Do this test:

with the tv OFF (important!) short the pins of the vga (every one with each other one)...

If your TV has the ex-link port then yes you can wake it up using it. You have to send the proper command string + checksum. Read about that here: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... f=9&t=2059 I've done this and remote control via RS-232 works fine.
