Playing 3D content not possible - PC input

Post by ailiev »

Hi,

I've recently bought a new D6530, and im testing some 3d content..

I cannot seem to get the 3d working through the PC input, I have SBS content 1080p (some IMAX movie..), and when i play it on the TV from the PC input (i have my pc connected to the tv via THE d-sub cable) i cannot activate the 3d option for SBS ... its simply grayed out.

When I try to play this same file through DNLA, i can see the thumbnail for the file, but when i try to play it, it says video codec not supported;(

Any ideas?

You can't play back 3D content through VGA. You have to connect your PC using DVI/HDMI.

Yeah, i decided to check the e-manual and it seems that you are correct.

Although I cannot seem to play it through DNLA or USB as well.

Keeps saying video codec not supported. It plays fine in kmplayer for example

I tried replacing the audio file with AAC and it keeps saying the same.

If i try to re-encode the video to another AVC profile, would the 3d break?

I think that's the problem, the file was incorrectly encoded, for some reason the person who did it used a framerate that's double of what it should be, which is stupid... and current embedded devices usually can't decode more than 30fps in 1920x1080 resolution.

No, SBS is pretty simple, the TV just takes the first half of the video image for the left eye and the second half for the right eye. So as long as you don't start cropping and uncentering the split there's no problem :)
