I have a PS64D8000FSXXN Plasma television. My firmware is 1021.
The last weeks I'm digging into the enabling telnet and samba on the tv. I see a lot of information on this site about other tvs but not much about this type. A lot of information wrt D-series is also outdated.
I'm now looking into this
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/How_to ... msung_TV's
With regard to the 'safe way': My tv does not have an option to select the USB firmware
With regard to the automated way http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php?title=S ... re_Patcher: I cannot find the samyGO.py and this seems to be outdated info anyway
This leaves me with the manual option. I downloaded the firmware (1031) and indeed includes a 'exe.img.sec' file. But before I start using a hex editor and decrypting, modifying, encrypting back ..... and bricking...... my Plasma I rather do some checking here on this site
Does anybody have advice which method is easy and safe.
In fact my aim is to enable Samba so that I can use this way to access my NAS for watching movies and recording programs.
Btw, really great site!!!
