MiCOM Upgrade accidentally(exlink & arduino)

Post by jorgeLab »

First I would like to greet and congratulate the community that has helped me so much . Now , I proceed to describe my problem. Accidentally enter the option " MICOM Upgrade" in the "service mode" . Thus I bricked my tv un32d5500rg . I have read every post and I've made ??my "ex - link cable " and what I get for console is:

Switch to Earphone UART
SEC

Switch to Micom UART

=================================
onboot (Feb 25 2011 - 16:08:03)
release ver : 1002 - RELEASE
etc :
=================================

Onboot X6 Sync mode
LCD FastLogo Run...
Loading Kernel....
load kernel start, size : 131072 + 3538944 byte
Jump Kernel....

auth success by h/w sha1 !!!! there is format error !!!!
UART1 flag is wrong data
it will be set default - UART mode.

Then, what I read in another post , I bought an ethernet Arduino ( Arduino mega + shield ethernet) , but I could not read what he has my eeprom ( do not know why ) , and that was my last attempt. I would be grateful if I can lead. Many thanks.

These are some of the post I have guided:

Sorry dude ..

Try searching the forum for the word "MiCOM" ...
You will find several threads ..
All threads end up the same way ... If you upgrade MiCOM, you killed the motherboard basically.

Only known fix is to buy new motherboard ... :-(
I provide NO assistance by PM, unless absolutely necessary. Please ask questions in dedicated topics.

Hello All,

Were you able to find a solution to this problem. Please let me know how you were able to reverse the MICOM updrade accident. I have done the same thing. I went into service menu and before I knew it I had selected the MICOM Upgrade by accident and it locked up my TV. I unplugged the TV and now it will not turn on at all. The standby light is off, does not illuminate. Could really use some help. Thanks in advance.

BTW, I have a Samsung UN46EH5300F.

this is really only available solution: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4555&p=86791#p86791
What really you need is programmer and use method, described on that referenced topic. I even think you can use micom firmware from there as attached programming file (ue40eh5000w_wt61p805_388.rar) fits for your TV well IMO.

If you know someone with RT809 or any other programmers with possibility to program via VGA ISP (usually this is how masters repair bricked LCD monitors), then you could try. Or ask in your repair service.
Optional you can buy one for you (e.g. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-RT809F-USB ... 321?_ul=AR) and do everything for yourself. But i`m not responsible about result, it might not work on your TV, this is also possible... :x

Thank you so much Jusso for your reply. I will follow your provided links. Thanks again.
Ps- it is very frustrating that this happened as you probably already know.

Jusso, is it possible to skip all of the programming and just purchase a replacement main board? It seems that I can purchase another board for less cost than the RT809.
