As far as I know the serial port is on pins 4.7 and 11 of the VGA port. In the service manual it talks about a stereo jack but the only jacks present on the mainboard don't seem to have serial connections...
Any clues?

The D8000 I have uses a stereo connector labeled ex-link for rs232.

A question: on the main boards top side there are 2 empty connectors. Anyone know what are they for?

Please post a picture. My D8000 has no such label but the jack might be the same.

Not needed.
- 2D -> 3D conversion: basically useless feature, IMO.

I even dont like to watch 3D. IMO not healthy thing. Become headaches after 15min of watching...

Thanks guys for info. I`ll take the D6000 board and install gasdeuc firmware :D

Why don't you get a D7000 or D8000 board instead ;)

Here is one of the pictures I posted previously showing my main board. The RS-232 stereo connector is the black connector on the bottom left next to the light green component connector. TV model is PN51D8000

prairie, we believe here is "old" service port left compared to all other C and D series TV`s, where service port is on VGA socket.
I think you also use simple ExLink cable without any ttl interface... Lucky :)

nobody, if i risked, i would change the T-GASDEUC board. But not d7/8 series.

Got mainboard from D6750, works well. Thanks guys for support :)

So: D6000 (61xx-64xx) mainboards are compatible and can be easily changed. No additional work, just plug and play. Connectors, screw holes and ports are same. The mainboars are same part number, size etc.

Also no problems with back pannel, except small 1x2 cm hole is needed for CI adapter holder (if needed).

Resume - for cost about 100Euro it is easy to upgrade TV to D6750 and get DVB-S2 (T/C/S2), Browser and Skype - most wanted things for D6000 series :)

Edit: only one issue - seems front touch pannel wont work. For me - it is not a problem at all, i dont use it either. :)

Hello.

I own an UE40D7000 set and would like to know if anyone knows if the embedded Ethernet port is 10/100 or 10/100/1000?

I'm not able to locate this info anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

It's 10/100.

An interesting note: XXD8000 have the BCM43238 wifi chip.

From boot log:
bcm0: Broadcom BCMa8e4 802.11 Wireless Controller 5.103.68.2

a8e4 is hex for 43238 :)

This chip seems to support not only a/b/g but also N!

from iwconfig:
wl0.1 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:"55D8000"
