I don't have such experience on sniffing BT (but WEP for cracking :D).

My help might be just giving detail of $100 bounty.
1. We needed to run this glass with cheap USB BT4.0 dongles, from PC.
2. You needed to give/open source of the stack or any information with project.
3. Control of shutter speed / sync (if protocol permits.)
4. Hack needed to be released under our forum first.
5. Bounty will transferred using PayPal from project donations, if it doesn't enough balance, will make donate the remaining to project :)

I believe it already support channel hopping or it's useless to use it for almost all BT devices.

I registered here just for this topic.

I bought 8 pcs pack of these glasses (not working condition) on ebay with hope to use them on PC
Unfortunately they they are not really Bluetooth

here is quote from Broadcom datasheet:

Code: Select all

Shutter Control for 3D Glasses
The BCM20730, combined with the BCM20702, provides full system support for 3D glasses on televisions. The
BCM20702 gets frame synchronization signals from the TV, converts them into proprietary timing control
messages, then passes these messages to the BCM20730. The BCM20730 uses these messages to synchronize
the shutter control for the 3D glasses with the television frames.
The BCM20730 can provide up to four synchronized control signals for left and right eye shutter control. These
four lines can output pulses with microsecond resolution for on and off timing. The total cycle time can be set
for any period up to 65535 msec. The pulses are synchronized to each other for left and right eye shutters.
The BCM20730 seamlessly adjusts the timing of the control signals based on control messages from the
BCM20702, ensuring that the 3D glasses remain synchronized to the TV display frame.
3D hardware control on the BCM20730 works independently of the rest of the system. The BCM20730
negotiates sniff with the BCM20702 and, except for sniff resynchronization periods, most of the BCM20730
circuitry remains in a low power state while the 3D glasses subsystem continues to provide shutter timing and
control pulses. This significantly reduces total system power consumption.
so it is not possible to use common bluetooth dongle to controll them

only way to use my purchase them is to throw away controller and replace it with some simple schematic which uses IR

So is that mean no possibilities on this?

I think there are no possibilities to control these glasses with simple Bluetooth dongle.

But ,I think, it is possible that in the future it will be possible to buy special Bluetooth dongles to control 3d glasses, since that protocol may be adopted as new standard.

These new 3D glasses use Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (BLE) mode, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_ ... al_details

Windows 8 is supposed to have native BT 4.0 support.

Here you go:

it is not that simple, because this chip uses separate hardware lines to control transmitter with precise timing.
I am not sure if it is even possible to control it over usb.
