[solved] FX2490HD, B2230HD support? - rooted!

Postby victorlop » Thu Mar 03, 2011 4:16 pm

Hi all!,
I wonder if anyboady tried to hack a Samsung FX2490HD.
In the service menu the firmware seems to be T-MSXMDEUC-2004.6.
Regarding the external visual aspect it seems to be a C series model, but I'm not sure.
Any ideas?

All the best,

Vic

Not know if it's C series. Also we don't inspected your firmware model before.
Please read C series hacks and try on your device. If it works, than report here too :)

victorlop,

You could try this test http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/samyg ... =40#p10979
If your MediaPlayer shows files after choosing USB as source - i believe - it is possible root your TV.

Thank you juzis28. I will give it a try.
I supposed I should get a wifi dongle first. Otherwise the hack will be useless. ;)

Hi all!,
agtr, mine is a TV LED monitor. It is a monitor, but also a TV including USB video play and the like. Actually the user interfaces is similar to most Samsung only TV.

yepp, what WIFi dongle are you using? I suppose it is natively supported by your samsung TV.
I will try the test it today.

I will post the results.

In mine testing/rootfs/dtv/usb/sda
testing/usb_mount_is_file.mpg does not exist neither. Nevertheless, in my C7000 I think that file did not exist, and the hack worked. I can see other mpg file, such as Partition_Switch_1_0.mpg.
I found one big issue. This model only has a single USB port. Therefore it means that it is not possible to have at the same time the WIFI dongle and the USB stick with the hack connected. Maybe a USB hub will do the job?

All the best,
victorlop2

Yes, you can use powered USB hub to connect multiple usb devices at same time.
Try to hack firmware over HotelMode (manual way). If you get usbhotplug working, then is possible to make telnet access also.

Thanks for the info juzis28.
To hack my C7000 I used these instructions Hacking_TV_over_Hotel_mode_(most_C_series_models) from the wiki.
Is that manual way?

All the best,
