Finally enabled PVR on my UN40EH5300 on latest firmware 2002.3

Post by maek »

I just created my account to let you know that with the help of theses forums, I was able to activate the PVR on my TV! I'm really happy and I want to let you know how I did it so more people can enable it too.

I wanted to make a lengthy guide but I don't have the time so you'll have to read these forums if you have questions but at least you will have the major steps.

1- Get RCoid app for Android on a mobile phone / tablet that has an IR transmitter. Theses includes Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, S4 Mini, Note 3, Tab 3, Medion Lifetab or HTC ONE and maybe more.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... coid&hl=en

2- Reprogram 2 buttons of the app for the factory+3speed keys that are necessary to unlock the advanced service menu. In the app, it's not obvious but you have to look for a listbox that has 3 options for codes input, it's the third one that seems to be in beta but has a big box for codes input. Search for the factory+3speed codes on theses forums or wiki.

3- Read on how to access the service menu of your samsung tv and all the warnings. Don't mess in the menus more than you need to.

4- Enter service menu, use RCoid to send the factory+3speed keys.

5- Read the wiki http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5?title=Main_Page to:
-Disable automatic updates
-Enable PVR function
-PVR num = 1

6- Insert usb key, let the tv format it and enjoy your new pvr.

Hope it can help anyone! Thanks samygo!

FYI: you can close your ssh session with SamyGO with

Code: Select all

~.
If you can't fix it using dvct tape, you are not using enough dvct tape.
