Re: [FW 0000] T-ECPDEUC for es7000, es8000, es9000
Hello
I'm new to this forum and have a question about the firmware of my TV (UE46ES8000). Without asking questions, I have always OK'ed the request for updating the software of the TV when it came on my screen. Without knowing what the impact is. Today I'm on version 2020.
I'm unsure if it's since the latest update or the one before but since then it's impossible to play subtitles that are inside a MKV file (which gets streamed from a Synology). I would like to get it back. How can I do that and to what version do I need to go back?
I've read that I first need to "update" to version 0000 and then update to the version I want, correct? It's the download in the first post of this topic?
Apart from that, how do I know what changes when there's an update? If I had known the changelog then I wouldn't have updated...
And what is the best firmware version for my TV and why?
Thanks!
EDIT: are firmware updates language dependant?
And do firmware updates impact image or viewing quality?

Yes.Quisss wrote:It's the download in the first post of this topic?
You don't know. Changelog is unknown to Samsung, surely because there would never be anything interesting inside it.Quisss wrote:how do I know what changes when there's an update?
It's told to be 2003.4 ...because it's the bestQuisss wrote:And what is the best firmware version for my TV and why?
No. T-ECPDEUC is T-ECPDEUC.Quisss wrote:are firmware updates language dependant?
Some myth tells so, but definitely no.Quisss wrote:And do firmware updates impact image or viewing quality?

What's so special about this version?zoelechat wrote:It's told to be 2003.4 ...because it's the bestQuisss wrote:And what is the best firmware version for my TV and why?
Still some other questions...
Do I need to reset the TV before installing the 0000 firmware? After updating to the firmware I want, do I need to reset the TV again (back to factory settings)? And about this reset, is the reset option in the regular menu under "support" the same as the reset option in the service menu?
