Rooting E-Series T-MST-10 on latest firmwares (>2000.2)

Post by cmuc05 »

xaleb asked me to write how I rooted my ES 6300 with T-MST10PDEUC 2004.1. I was helped by Tvaddickt in this post http://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f= ... 900#p69139.
So here is a short summary:

1. Read at least the first post of this thread http://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=7982.

2. The rooting of ES 6300 is a mix out of the two methods for F-Series and E-Series:
Now you should have FAT USB with two folders: SamyGO-F-SM-MST-Fix and SamyGO_data
  • Connect USB to TV
  • Launch SamyGO-F-SM-MST-Fix from SmartHub (if it doesn't appear reboot TV). Sometimes it is necessary to connect USB WHILE TV IS OFF!!!
  • The widget will automatically finish installation (No need to push any buttons).
  • When it finishes it will ask to reboot TV.
  • Reboot TV and wait 1-2 minutes.
  • Now SamyGO is started and telnet/ftp/etc. should work.
3. Thats it.

Hi cmuk05,

I have an UE40ES6300 with Firmware 2004.1 and Smarthub-Version 4.6161-5.0. I have done OTN=OFF and copied the both Folders on my Fat-Stick and rebooted n-times. But nothing happens at the Smarthub. No samygo-icon appears or any Dialog or a successful ftp-connect. I believe this is the cause of my tryings before the steps of your thread from the above named thread viewtopic.php?f=63&t=7982 which also contain a section to root the E-series. But in difference to your explanation there is told, to use a folder called "SamyGO-F" from another downloadfile? Please, can you tell me how to return to a clean starting-position for rooting my tv and verify the needed steps and files again?

Thank you.

Try disconnecting all USB devices except the stick

Then look at the first link: The point is to mix these two approches (E-Series with F-Series)

If you want to have a clean start point:
1. Factory Reset in Service Menu (where OTN is switched off)
2, Switch OTN to off
3, Smarthub Reset

My USB root folder looks like:

Code: Select all

22.01.2015 16:54 <DIR> SamyGO_data
22.01.2015 16:53 <DIR> SamyGO-F-SM-MST-Fix
Don't forget to copy 128mb.xfs for the E-Series into the SamyGO_data folder.
Stick must be FAT

This method works 100% for my ps51e6500, firmware T-MST10PDAAC-2001.0. Now do not have to put activating code 1198282 and keyboard fully active in serial consol. Thank you sectroyer and cmuc05.

Thank you very much, cmuc05!
Unplugging the USB-HD and only having connected the USB-Stick with the 2 Folders leaded to success !

But is it right, that the USB-Stick must always be connected to get the ftp-connect? If so, ok, but it would be more nice to get this feature automatically started without the connected stick all the time. Is this possible, too?

Anyway, really good work and many thanks to the developpers!

Yes

Yes but only if you know (by yourself) how to do it. If you don't know how to do it such feature is not for you (to big brick risk).
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Worth mentioning, TV must have internet connection for root to work.

Hello experts!
I tried to root my ES6800, but correct connection with TV I have only once, never again. I try connect via ftp an SamyGO PVR decoder. TV and my computer connect to the same router via LAN. I try restarted TV, router, reinstalling widget, but without success.
What I make wrong?

Original topic is there, and that's the one you should follow in first place.
Did you read first post advices (in big red letters)? Especially:
WARNING!!!! DON'T EXPECT HACK TO BE WORKING CORRECTLY IF YOU EVER UNPLUG ROOTING USB !!!!!!
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.
