there seems to be not new functionality in the newer firmware. I just can say I couldn't notice one.
Based upon my experience, we need do modify original firmware to get something new.
Could "Hotel mode" and backup/restore to/from usb could help us to go through it?
Activating PVR, ALL Share didn't help me. Activating ext-wifi will bring you network connection, that's all.
Maybe someone else was more successful?

I have UA40EH5300 i can Extended SM by Dual IR transmitter (success with Iphone4 play sound, test with netbook, SS Note N7000 not success) changed Region/Local set to using DVB-C and success to do it.

other tv UA32EH4003 i saw on website of SS Tuner/Broadcasting: DTV Tuner Ready (some other region, africa is DVB-TC), firmware is T-M9RHMASC.bin. can tell me EH4003 using chipset (MStar X9 or what), tuner type or region to use DVB-C. When i going to Service Menu Local set only EA-Viet/EA-Thai/EA-Ind/EA-xxx, don't have REgion to change DTV.... I was using Dual Ir Transmitter to send Factory+3speed (one file wav) but not extended SM.

Can you tell me more with EH4003.

I will try transmitter factory(one file wav) then 3speed (one file wav) later.

EH4003 with analog channel so poor (very bad image link see VCD block noise), 40EH5300 like this with analog channel but now with SD DVB-C channel so good.

the chipset for EH4003 is Novatek:

EH4003 -> EH6003 -> T-NVTE4DEUC-10xx.x -> Novatek

so it is not MStar or anything else.

But when i download new firmware on vn, africa, asia this firmware have is T-M9RHMASC.BIN ver 1005 and only 7,9MB. When i select firmware on some eu have 34MB. May i flash this firmware?

With original firmware when i going to service menu i can't option region to change, i was play factory wav then on screen have 1 red line blink and sm go out, play 3speed then red line go out and sm displayed again but it is same before ( no extended, many option still grey).

I was by a ca-45 (daipu manufactory same ca-42 usb-serial PL2303 driver on win7) this cable have 3 cord orange gnd, red tx and 3,3v, brow rx. I connect with stereo 3,5 jack 1tx, 2rx, 3gnd using putty serial 115200,1,none,8,none but i only see garbage chacracter only.
