Perhaps.. I dunno if it actually works (I'm not aware of any "success reports"), but such functionality is mentioned in D8000 service manual
(http://elektrotanya.com/samsung_ue40d80 ... nload.html, page 60):

Code: Select all

If User want to use 3D Glasses in 2010(IR 3D Glasses, not Bluetooth 3D Glasses)
If user want to use 3D Glasses in 2010 models(SSG-2100 and etc), We can change SET Factory option.
1. Run Factory Mode by pressing keys when the SET is Stand-by mode.
Info Menu Mute Power
2. Contact SVC ? IR_ON_OFF and change value from OFF to ON Then, user can use IR 3D Glasses in 2010 samsung
models.
It's far from clear what author of this SM has in mind exactly (it should rather be phrased as 3D Glasses from 2010 models, instead of 3D Glasses in 2010 models) but such "engrish funny" statements are pretty common in Samsung service manuals..

However, it doesn't mean it will work in any 3D-capable D-series models (even if there is IR_ON_OFF option in service menu, IR emitter may be absent from particular hardware revisions). Perhaps it only applies specifically to D8000 model? Not to even mention any later TV models from E/F-Series.

2 sbav1:

Thanks a lot for your reply.
It is not working on y UE40D6100
There is such option in SM but IR 3D glasses are not turning on for this model. Maybe someone could check it in Higher Models?
Would be wonderful if it works. I will check it on ES6300 also

PS: interested how much costs IR emitter now :)
