Re: Setting up a cross compiling toolchain
Don't be sad. Developers different than users. Users are comments on tools they thing good for them. So they don't post topics like here.
And even I have suffering about same problem as a project admin
Since Samsung removed their source from internet.
They said will put back but they doesn't put it back... Might be later.
Unfortunately we couldn't release those files here directly but we can rewrite required parts of uboot code.
So have little patient. I guess aquadran fix svn soon.
Regards.

why you don't use oe from svn?majonezz wrote:Ok, i'm giving up. None of above scripts worked for me

i dont't like to remove other peoples articles from wiki, but the script toolchain build method is not very effectiv.
but samsung has own i2c implementation and not use the linux api (as far i saw).

Re: Setting up a cross compiling toolchain
Thanks very much for advice, but there are some problems with online content needed for compile i guess. I'm not so familiar with tolls like cvs. I'm getting follownig error:arris69 wrote:why you don't use oe from svn?majonezz wrote:Ok, i'm giving up. None of above scripts worked for me

Re: Setting up a cross compiling toolchain
Hi stefanth,
The samygo-toolchain-fc11 files have been designed to build a toolchain for the UExxB70xx-series and a bunch of other 2009 models.
As such, it will not work straight away for your TV. You will need the kernel code and toolchain code for your specific model for that.
Check out opensource.samsung.com for that
I tried and build it using cygwin 1.5, but that attempt failed miserably, because glibc would not build. There is a workaround for that: just rip the libraries built by glibc from your TV and you are home free.
As for a building environment, I did not like to do that, because I feel that the toolchain should build out-of-the-box.
Anyway, dynamic69, robbiesz and a bit of my work is now a bit obsolete. I would try and check out SamyGO Open Embedded for toolchain implementation (see wiki for that) if I were you.
grtz,
marcelr
