Saving EPG when turning off

Post by mattberlin »

Hi everybody,

I'm always annoyed of the fact that the TV's EPG doesn't contain any data when switching on the TV. Instead, I'll have to switch to each transponder in order to get the entire EPG content.
Thus, it would be wonderful to save this information when turning off and putting this data back into the EPG when booting up.

Best regards

If you want, I can also make it sticky. :)

Quite possible, we can detect key presses via PVR code.

With this two anser the script for saving and loading could be created easily.
Yes but we (I) don't know where is it. I insistst that TV stores this information on memory. And It's not quite easy to dump (easy part) and restore(harder part) back.

I think also that TV does not store EPG information into any file and it is loaded only into the memory. Reasons are probably obvious - EPG information can be easily outdated after some time when the TV is off (I'm not sure how many days is loaded by standard when retrieving EPG information), it is retrieved only for currently "live" channels etc.
Anyway, I'll be probably checking some EPG functions, so who knows..

Absolutely, but don't forget to set your clock alarm! ;)
