No way so fake drm/certificate/whatever to be up-to-date..?
Please report here if you are going to test 2022...
Of course I will ... :)

Is there any way to root the TV with this method via FTP while I am still rooted with the old widget before to upgrade ?

So... finally a good news and update with FW 2022.

E-Series widget does not work: it continue to restarts endlessly.
I followed the suggestion at first post: Leave your SamyGO_data as it is but put there some (any) file named samyext4.img and try F-MST method.

The widget installed and at the end I needed to push the back button to exit the widget.
After that root is back on TV as before without need to enable autostart.
It seems exactly the same TV as before :)

Question: can I unplug USB now ?

Thanks for the good job.

Thanks for your report. Appreciate it. If my error bind problem will not leave I'm going to do the same....

HAHAHA ... yes it was so BIG that I did not realize.
Anyhow my question is if I can remove the folder "SamyGO-F-SM-MST-Fix" from USB.
This because everytime I enter the SH there is a warning to delete it.

Sure you can remove install widget from USB, but in case of root loss you'll have to copy it back to relaunch it.

Success - I have my TV exatly as it was with old root (without USB pluged) but with FW 2022.

But I used quite a strange combination:
SamyGO_data.zip (of F Series)
SamyGO-F-SM-MST-Fix-USB.zip (F-MST)
and put my saved 128mb.xfs (with old root and run.sh stuff) and (any) samyext4.img file to SamyGO_data
Started once Widget. Some Infos were red - anyway.

From now I don't know what did the trick exactly...
I noticed that I have root (connecting via FTp FileZilla works) but mnt was not mounted.
I decided to run run.sh in widgets/user/SamyGO/data manually via shell (this was all still there) and started also RestoreSmG Wigdet which still was there even afer FW updated. Two reboots later TV starts with Root as I had it with 2003.4... Without USB.

Sorry for this more or less confusing report - But at this time I'm too lazy to reproduce all this to give a more proper information :-)

Anyway - Looks like its possible to have old root with latest ES FW 2022 without USB - If you have old "Skype replacement" root E/F (mihd) installed before.

Actually I don't know if even only stating RestoreSmG would be enough after FW upgrade...

To give a correct report it would be needed to roll back to 2003.4, root with "Skype replacement" root E/F (mihd), do the FW upgrade to 2022 again and see what is really doing the job...

Additional remark
With FW 2022 SmartHub works again and no more ERROR_MODEL_BIND or any other Connection Error which I had with 2003.4 (for last two weeks). It really looks like that Samsung blocks Internet services completly for older FW... FU Samsung ;)

"weight fonder"? aka "right folder"? :)
But I still don't know what you want to know...

In the meantime I did some script research as I used the wrong F-MST SamyGO_data for my ES.
Therefore my 128mb.xfs in SamyGO_data on USB did exactly nothing because no mounting commands for that in run1.sh!
So I guess SamyGO-F-SM-MST-Fix and SamyGO_data (with file samyext4.img) give me access to TV via FTP and nothing more.

Code: Select all

+ + /tmp/bin/busybox+ sync
 tcpsvd -vE/tmp/bin/remshd33
 0.0.0.0 21 /tmp/bin/busybox ftpd -w /
tcpsvd: listening on 0.0.0.0:21, starting
All in all I think that only "Skype replacement" root E/F (mihd) would do the job as well (still needs to be proven...)
