Is there maybe the possibility for logging for getting information why the TV crashes?

I'm about to implement some loggings into my code, but this doesn't mean, that they will be much of a help, if the tv crashes.
i.e. If I try to grab the screen, and the function (implemented somewhere in the system or what so ever) causes the crash, it won't be possible to log what exactly happend.

Right now I have a new laptop and I need to setup all my dev-environments again. Will take a while.

Ok guys... I'm back on track :-)

Some good and some bad news.

Bad:
There are users, which can run libScreenShot without ALT-method, and some that can run it only with ALT-method. When I use libScreenShot or libAmbiLight with ALT-method my TV crashes, so unfortunatelly, I'm not able to test if the ALT method works or not.

Good:
Nevertheless, I've tried to implement, ALT-method blindfolded :P. I don't know wheter it works or not. I've also implemented some loggings for further investigation. Also, there's now a simpler method for testing, where you don't need to restart your TV each time. Just in case it crashes, you have to restart :-D

Your part:
I've atteched a new file libAmbiLight_TEST.zip, and an image-file with different colors, which you can use for testing. Please open that image on your TV and make sure, that it's fully displayed (no OSD, or any black borders) and then run the test-command. Please, post your log outputs, for me to investigate.

Testing
To test if everything works fine, modify and execute the following command.

Code: Select all

samyGOso -d -T -B -l /mnt/opt/privateer/usr/libso/libAmbiLight.so H_LEDS:36 V_LEDS:18 SERVER_IP:192.168.1.32 SERVER_PORT:5050 OFFSET:17 REVERSE TEST
or with ALT

Code: Select all

samyGOso -d -T -B -l /mnt/opt/privateer/usr/libso/libAmbiLight.so H_LEDS:36 V_LEDS:18 SERVER_IP:192.168.1.32 SERVER_PORT:5050 OFFSET:17 REVERSE TEST ALT
If everything works well, you should see a sample output like

Code: Select all

[AmbiLight] AmbiLight started
[AmbiLight] Series H detected
[AmbiLight] We have data
....
[AmbiLight] final-pixel: [255,0,0]
....
[AmbiLight] final-pixel: [255,255,0]
...
[AmbiLight] final-pixel: [0,255,0]
....
[AmbiLight] final-pixel: [0,0,255]
....

[AmbiLight] AmbiLight ended

I hope we can make it ;-)

cheers,
