[Ended][ROOT] H "Skype" root (FW<=Dec.2014, all T-GFS)
Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
Factory reset needed then
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.
Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
I've done factory reset, followed rooting steps and I got root...partial only.
After rooting, TV works normally until I press Power off button on the remote. Then it starts not to respond until I unplug it from the wall. When I plug it - it's all over again - it's all OK until I press Power button. Than TV freezes on the selected chanell and doesn't respond to any command from the remote.

Just to mention, with the firmware 2130 Skype doesn't "behave" as with new firmware. With the old firmware, when I start Skype it's all OK until I want to close it. I click on "Stay connected..." or "Stay logged in..." and then Skype and all TV freez up and I can just unplug it from the wall. With the new firmware Skype works fine. That's just an observation I thought it could be useful to someone.
Thanx for help, but I'm giving up on this...
Yet another factory reset and tweaking all the stuff and that's it.

Please, do not ask from me to get you files or procedure for rooting your TV. If you can't donate $10, try make some deal with erdem_ua.
Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
Never give up , another rooting method remains (up to fw 2780, Skype not needed): https://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=9622
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.

Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
Yes but it's important to disable OTN Support ASAP & block updates on router
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!

Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
I've succeded by the Skype method, with the firmware 2120.0!
I have promptly installed libNoDRM.so so I finally can record DTV content without DRM - and that's exactly was my goal.
I've tried to reproduct those no-DRM videos in VLC player - and it works like a charm!
Now, what is the best app for lossless converting .srf files to .mkv?
Thanx, guys, for all of your effort to code all of this, there are lots of people in the world who are grateful for that!
Cheers!

Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
Glad
Well, quite offtopic here . MKV is only a container so it never needs any "conversion". Know that .srf recorded by TV are directly .TS simply if you change extension. If you really *need* mkv, you can use MKVtoolnix for example.Algol wrote:Now, what is the best app for lossless converting .srf files to .mkv?

Re: [App] Rooting H series (updated 25/06/2015)
Hello!
I tested to root my Samsung 40H7090 with firmware T-GFSDEUC 1300.2
I did all the step?s from the manual
(but can?t disable firmware updates in service menu because it?s grayed out and there is no Quickly Power OFF Samsung in General Settings)
So, i blocked the samsung update websites in the router.
After i started the samy flash utility the logfile screen shows the following:
(everythink ok)
After the TV started I have only access to port 3123 on telnet with the following:
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
No access with port 23 with telnet.
and no access with ssh on port 22
any idea what?s the problem?
ps: tested it with lan and wlan
pss: I also used an second usb stick to record something in tv
