Recordings done with the NoDRM app can directly be played on the PC, but unfortunately the TV is not able to Play them at all.
Ahoy!
This sounds just like my story, I have a H6470 running T-MST14DEUC-2130.0 rooted with the second method (non-Skype): it started with .ss files missing when recording. Now this gave me enough motivation to try the NoDRM.

Late edit: With only 1 difference though:
matthewk wrote:Recordings done without NoDRM can by played by the TV

Actually for me they cannot be played back on TV, unless I start with Timeshift and then press the recording button...strange enough?

And here I am, just as described by our good old matthewk...but the interesting part, I can see the files during the session they were recorded, after TV restart they cannot be played anymore.
I have checked the level 1 support things, running the 0.5.13.6 of the NoDRM with 1.2.5 of the dear samyGo and the dummy.ss is right at its place in /mtd_unirw/rwcommon/so/, I beg for Level 2
To mention also that NoDRM.db is nicely increasing at every recording with 11 bytes (which I find quite normal, right?)
Now, I could try a new reflash, but I dot know to which extent that should give me hopes. Better ask before doing.
I feel I looked in all the big things, which detail am I missing? Any idea would be highly appreciated...

That's a complex one, it seems :ugeek: ...basically i try to say that whatever is recorded (without timeshift) can only be played back until the next reset, afterwards it cannot be played anylonger on the tv (even with NoDRM loaded)

Last edit Solved with Factory reset (pay attention to non-bricking procedure explained in the root thread!)

I had a similar problem: Recordings could not be played back on TV.
Downloaded to a PC they played perfectly (if NoDRM had been used before).
Timeshift worked and even the recording if switched to that during timeshift.

I'll describe what I found out and how I fixed this (don't have the TV here so
all is coming from my ageing memory but you'll get the idea):

There were 2 small 3 MB fs mounted. I don't remember their exact names
currently but if you do some 'ls -l /' you'll see something like /drm_????_a
and /drm_????_b. In the latter one, on the 2nd or 3rd level there is a directory
named CONTENTS. In this directory I found all .ss files of all recordings I've
ever done (regardless of whether they were deleted on the harddisk or not).
And one timeshift.ss. And this small 3 MB fs was simply full. I just deleted
all .ss files which had no corresponding .srf file on the hard drive and everything
was fine again: Recording and playback on TV worked again.

This also explains why timeshift worked all the time: For timeshift, the file
timeshift.ss is always used. Once sitting on the fs, it gets free'ed up and
created again for every timeshift recording. But for all other recordings,
a new file like 20160704....ss will have to be added and this won't work if
the fs is full...

Meanwhile I wrote a small script which cleans up all remnants on the harddrive
and that mentioned /drm_????_b filesystem automatically by simply removing
everything without a corresponding .srf file...

I'm buying an h-series bluray with possibility to record TV.
Is this app for disabling protection/encryption?
Awesome in such case.
Is any other app (except for rooting) needed/recommended to transfer files?
"MST only", I guess firmware revision informs me if I have mst or not?

Seems firmware of the bluray is named B-FB4HRDEUC.
So I guess I can't use this "app"...
