Garbage on serial port exlink

Post by ocotillo »

I'm trying to get a serial connection through the exlink port, I have set the RS232 mode to Debug. I'm using an OSEPP FTDI breakout board (usb to serial) with the voltage jumper set to 3.3V, I have also tried another usb to serial converter. I receive a lot of data but, all garbage, it looks something like when the baud rate is set wrong but, I've tried many combinations of baud rate and other comm settings. Does anyone know how to get serial port on the H series with latest firmware?

i have an h series that i sucessfully connected to, via ex-link port. i used an FTDI usb 3.3v to 3.5mm stereo jack cable and i ended up using the following settings in pUTTY: 115,200 8 N 1 NONE connect the cable to the pc, then connect to tv, run pUTTY, or whatever program you use, then power off the tv by uplugging it from the wall, then plu it back in and power it on. thats how i got it to work for me....
