Watching USB recordings on PC
Re: Watching USB recordings on PC
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)

Don't worry, it's been the first thing I've done as soon as I've discovered this forumBothBut remember to first disable OTN Support
Ok I will try to set these filters on my router. Thank you for your suggestion

Re: Watching USB recordings on PC
I was trying to set those filters, but the thing seems more complex than I thought.
So these are the screenshots of my router's configuration page. Of course I know my ip and subnet mask, plus the ip addresses that you indicated me. But what about all the other settings, like protocol, source and destination port and destination subnet mask?

Using Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-123 K26 USB AIO on a Cisco E4200 hv. rev 1
Allows me to do all the stuff I want from a router and so much more .. I recommend it.
Its speed is also better than most other (if not all) routers I have tested in the N-class.

Re: Watching USB recordings on PC
My router is a D-Link 2740B and unfortunately it can't run custom firmwares like yours, neither dd-wrt, freewrt & co. There's only this thing http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/d-link/dsl-2740b, which to me it is pretty useless because it doesn't support the integrated modem.
This means that I can't set the ip filter because the configuration page of my router requests me the exact source/destination ports, and it doesn't accept a range.
I guess I will have to abandon the ip filter idea. Thanks anyway man

Re: Watching USB recordings on PC
What if you leave Port fields empty? (as well as "Destination Subnet Mask", else set this to 0.0.0.0)tendi wrote:This means that I can't set the ip filter because the configuration page of my router requests me the exact source/destination ports, and it doesn't accept a range.
Isn't "port:port" a range? (e.g. 1:65535 or even 1::65535, seeing your router's documentation)
I think only outbound filter on TCP/UDP should be enough

Re: Watching USB recordings on PC
Ok I've followed your suggestions and this is the best I've been able to do:

I've discovered that if I don't select the protocol, it seems to consider ALL protocols. At the same time, when no protocol is selected, the textbox of the port is disabled. In the screenshot you can see that in the port columns there is this character "-". What would it mean? Any port or no port at all? Is there any way to test if the filters that I've set are working correctly?

I thought the same thing but in practice it doesn't work: I tried with 1:65535, 1::65535, 1-65535, but they are not accepted. Une single value instead works.Isn't "port:port" a range?
