Shifting PVR by an arbitrary amount

Post by mad_ady »

Here's a problem I noticed. My TV provider sends the channel programs (I believe it's called the PVR) with all the shows and the times they air. If I start recording based on their schedule, the recording starts on the correct time, but the TV show actually airs about a minute before, so my recording is not complete.

I wonder - (or I'm asking @zoelechat) - would it be possible to inject a lib to change all program's start time to be x seconds sooner that what the PVR says? That would allow me to record the shows I want (e.g. cartoons for the kids), and we'd only loose commercials at the end of the show - which is great.

I remember reading on the forum of tools to inject arbitrary PVR contents, but that might be overkill.

Or maybe it would be easier to change the system time (not the NTP one)?

So, is this idea feasible? Is it already implemented somehow and I didn't find it?

Thanks

I couldn't forget that one, I was obviously (one of) the only to have that feature unlocked by default on my TV (hence lib name ;) )
