As nobody showed up to help, probably because most people don't read the monitors forum, here I am asking for the same thing again.

In fact, I wonder why Samsung calls this a monitor; after all, it does everything a TV is supposed to do and so I decided to post again here, on the 'A' series which I think is the most appropriate. If not, please mod, move it.

I've made some progress: I have a working Ex-Link cable, 3.3V levels as I found it requires, enter the debug menu by typing 1198282 [enter] and 20089999. Then I choose option 0x20 - System Shell, and I get a console prompt: VDLinux#>

But I'm only able to type hex characters as someone already posted. I don't want to go any further fearing to brick it.

On the service menu / option, I see:

Hello again,

I read somewhere in the forum that someone had the same problem, opened the TV and found out that pin 13 of the HDMI connector, carrying CEC information, was not connected and so obviously CEC could not function without the hardware support.

This is not my case, I just opened the TV and followed the track from HDMI, both connectors, pins 13 are indeed connected to the SOC through a 100 ohm resistor. In fact, I couldn't follow the tracks right to the SOC pin because it is a BGA; but it enters the area covered by the chip so I presume it is connected to it.

Again, any help will be much appreciated.
