Hi everyone

I have a Samsung LED TV, that I bought a month ago, it has developed a permanent green vertical line in the middle, I tried everything
(Factory reset, changing cables, firmware upgrade ...) but with no luck I knew about service menu, I tried changing some settings, till I accidentally hit MICOM Upgrade,
it took so long with no response at all, I powered off the TV, powered on again & it's dead blank screen. the remote & front panel no longer works, there is a Red light at the back coming from the Digital Audio out.
what can I do to make it work again ?

My TV is UA32D4000. It also had a colour problem and I did the same thing. Now nothing works. I tried with unbriking the EEPROM. But no change. Not even the red LED blinking as many other samsung LED TV problems wrote in this site elsewhere. Are there anyone familiar with this...Pls help  .

THis is fatal mistake to touch micom upgrade in service menu. Just m/b replacement helps. Either by warranty, or by yourself.

Did you check for output on the UART / RS232 ?

I don't know what is MICOM or what it is supposed to be doing, but since its "upgradable" it could be bootloader or efuse related...
Thus attempting to update MICOM, it may expect you to supply some file somewhere or simply changes some internal efuses.

Only RE of the service menu code could really tell us what its doing. Anyone willing to chime in?

"Micom upgrade" most likely activates the MICOM firmware downloader. This mean that after you have done entered this mode, your TV is waiting for a file that contain the firmware. For Mstar devices, there is a special eMMC uploader that is connected either/or to UART (via windows COM port) or USB. We don't know how to use this feature yet, but it is well known on Samsung mobile phones. (Entering download mode / bootloader download etc...)

In addition there should be some way to reset your Micom chip, and maybe maybe hopefully it would exit download mode...

In addition, in one LG related TV with similar Micom chip and Mstar, there is an upload program, that is used through UART (RS-232) to upload a Samsung "hex" file. A "hex" file is just a binary file converted (in a special format) to ASCII readable text file. I also read in some B-model service manual that there might be a way to enter Uboot prompt, by hitting "SHIFT + ~" while booting (and in UART), but I have no idea if this feature is still available...
