Hello all,
I'm considering rooting my in-laws TV which is a J5600AW and I was wondering which root method I should try (the TV is offline, I applied the DNS redirects to protect from firmware updates, and it currently runs firmware 1411).
Should I try the J root, or the H root? I seem to remember that some of the cheaper J series were actually H in disguise. The OSD looks different from H series though.
Also, a follow-up question - can simpler models with no network and no Smart Hub (like J5100AWXBT) be rooted and would rooting them allow the usage of an usb-ethernet or usb-wifi dongle? I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd ask anyway...
J5600AW - is it a Tizen TV, or a rebranded H series?

http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/bea99b according to this, it's Tizen. So you need J rooting method.
Re: J5600AW - is it a Tizen TV, or a rebranded H series?
Hmm, maybe if somebody find a way to execute arbitrary code on such TV. But how? Some vulnerability in codec maybe?
I think it's theoretically possible, but now Samygo support only TVs with smarthub stuff
