Hi there i brought a nokia dku-5 data cable and when i plug it in i get a message from windows that a usb device has malfunctioned.

would this be faulty i have seen the same error on the nokia forums with these cables?

i juust dont want to cut the end off it if it is faulty as i wont get warranty.

im running windows vista and have tried it on a windows xp and win2k setup and all come up with the same error.
