50J5000 auto power on

Post by gauch »

Hi,

I'm looking for some help with setting Samsung 50J5000. I need that tv be always on. Switch itself on automatically after connecting to power outlet.
This is normal if tv was on and then disconnected from power, and then connected back again. But if switched to standby with remote, and then disconnected and connected again, it stays in standby, waiting for turn on signal from remote.
Or maybe some option to auto power on, even if standby signal received from remote. I want to use that tv in public and cannot have anybody to shut it down, with universal remote for example.
I thought about HDMI-CEC, but apparently, that model does not support anynet+.

Thanks,

Possible you can do it by changing this option into service menu (->SVC->Other Settings):

This option turn TV on after power failure like when you cut electricity in socket and then you switch back to on.

From what I can understand I think he already knows that TV switch on
Switch itself on automatically after connecting to power outlet.
This is normal if tv was on and then disconnected from power, and then connected back again.
But if switched to standby with remote, and then disconnected and connected again, it stays in standby, waiting for turn on signal from remote.
If I understand this can be a question? Maybe some sheduled recording will help if that TV support PVR and sheduled recording switch TV on from standby.

I've checked in SVC menu, but there are only 3 options: Test pattern, Delete S/N and Panel display Time.
I'm calling service menu with Mute-1-8-2-power. Is there is different service menu?
If I could change it to something like "always on" will do what I want. Those TVs will be on switched power outlet, so power can be cycled when needed.

Not sure all models have such option... Check at least wiki for how to access "extended" service menu, might help to see more options :)
