Video Distribution & Control for a High School

Post by bestday »

A local high school has just bought 8 Samsung TVs. I believe they said that they were Series C6 or maybe just Series 6. The model number is 620D (not a 6200 but a 620D).

They would like to do the following if possible: 1) Be able to remotely turn power on and off from their studio location 2) Have the televisions automatically go to channel 4 when remotely powered on.

They are feeding the video to each of the 8 classrooms via RG-6 cable. The video is fed through a channel 4 modulator. The distance to the classrooms are 200 to 800 feet in distance from the studio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Just bought" and "C series" don't come together. Moved to the right place :)

Possibly some clue there in wait for root one day...

I also remember some stuff about hospitality TV control through coaxial cable, look for REACH/SIRCH. Surely overkill for your purpose, but not sure any other solution exists.
